Claire's birthday

Today we went to Claire's 5th birthday party - can you guess what the theme was?!

All the kids love the trampoline!

Terry Fox Run

Today was our school's Terry Fox Run day. We went over to Queen's Park to run in one of the fields.

It was fun because I got to participate this year - last year I was working elsewhere and couldn't come see Holly's first ever T.F. Run.

Holly is moving so fast, she's a blur!

Holly and Mehr - both little blurs!

Hanging out with Ms. Nadia, their teacher from last year.

Counting their popsicle sticks - each time they completed a lap, they got a stick. Holly, Mackenzie, Katie, Mehr, and even Cassie, who came to visit for the afternoon (I think all the JK girls miss having Cassie in their class this year!).

Holly running, and running, and running - pretty cute! She laps a bunch of older kids who are just walking, and doesn't even stop to talk to her friends! You'll see Holly run for nearly a full minute, and at the end you see her collecting her stick . . .

Railings!

Paul and our neighbour, Rick have been working on putting up our railings. Paul tracked down a company that makes these railing kits - someone came by to measure it all up and then you get a kit that has everything in it. Easy! (Yeah, right!)

Cody's 1st Birthday

Today we went to Cody's 1st birthday party. Holly had fun at Kids in Motion - she especially loved the dress up time.

Ribbon Cutting

Today was the first day back to school - we had a big renovation this summer and the attic space was turned into classrooms for our high school. Katherine Adisa, who teaches the highest grades (grade 9 & 10), got to cut the ribbon, with Michael Bouchard, our head of school taking her photo.

Princess Bedroom

Holly was soooo excited to help paint her new bedroom. We painted last night, but made sure to leave part of the last wall so she could paint, too.

A pink "H" for her bedroom door.

So happy with all the furniture moved in!

Happy Princess Holly!

PNE!

Today, Holly and I danced at the PNE - here I am in the back row 2nd from the left:

Holly and the other little girls at the end of our performance, singing Aloha Oe.

After we finished our performance, we were able to stay at the PNE for the day. One of the shows this year was the Peking Acrobats. Their show was amazing!

After the Acrobats, we went to see one of Holly's favourite groups - the Doodlebops!

Holly posing with one of the City of Burnaby's eco-sculptures. This one was made for the 100th anniversary of the PNE.

Bobsled girl . . .

. . . or snowboarder?!

We also checked out some of the amazing work entered in the Sand Sculpture competition.

Here are some of the "Can-struction" piece of art: Inukshuk . . .

. . . Whack-a-Mole!

A cool melting ice cream cone . . .

. . . and even bumper cars!

Pillsbury Dough Boy . . .

. . . and Holly's own creation!

Holly enjoyed painting on an old bumper car - a free-for-all area where you could go crazy with paint!

And of course we HAD to go to Casey Bear's Street Party! She's not as shy as she was a few years ago - she ASKED to take picture with all the characters here, and even gave hugs willingly! See if you can recognize them all (Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George, Casey Bear, Cinderella, Super Why and just a regular Panda!).
