Musical Theatre
Holly went to Musical Theatre Camp at school again this year. She really enjoyed it last year, and couldn't wait to see her friend, Jazmin again. They performed a few songs from different musicals, including "Mr. Mistoffelees" from Cats.

Shuswap Lake
We spent the night in Golden, BC. The place we stayed at had a teepee by the playground. Before we left, Holly wanted to explore and have her picture taken inside.
We also stopped at Shuswap Lake to have a "quick" paddle, which turned into a few hours on the beach. We've talked to people over the years who have come up here, some have even houseboated here! Now we know how beautiful it is in person. The water was warm and the beach not too crowded. Holly had a blast on her paddleboard, and even got to practice "falling in" so she could get back on! That's our beach baby!

Drumheller - Royal Tyrrell Museum & Hoodoos?!
Today, we drove from Calgary to Drumheller to visit the dinosaur museum. Along the way . . .
At the Royal Tyrrell Museum . . . there was lots to see!
We went to have a snack and saw prairie dogs outside! It was the first time I'd seen one in the flesh - they obviously know that people drop food around here!
Down the road, about 15 km from Drumheller, we stopped to see some hoodoos . . . . . yes, hoodoos! They are very cool and you can look at one and it will look completely different from all angles.

"Hoodoos take millions of years to form and stand 5 to 7 metres tall. Each hoodoo is a sandstone pillar resting on a thick base of shale that is capped by a large stone. Hoodoos are very fragile and can erode completely if their capstone is dislodged. The name "Hoodoo" comes from the word "voodoo" and was given to these geological formations by the Europeans. In the Blackfoot and Cree traditions, however, the Hoodoos are believed to be petrified giants who come alive at night to hurl rocks at intruders."
