A day at the Museum

Today we went to the Burnaby Village Museum with Isabelle and her mom, Noriko. We walked through the village and checked out all the different buildings, had lunch at the Ice Cream Parlour and went for a ride on the carousel.

I didn't get any shots of the two monkeys today, but here is one of the beautiful horses on the 1912 restored carousel. It is a hand-carved wooden carousel built in Leavenworth, Kansas. This is carousel horse No. 9, "Mignonette". Click on this link to see details about the carousel.

Belinda came over for a few minutes during her lunch hour and we walked out to have a look at the two eco-sculptures that were created to look like the carousel horses. The body, mane, and tail are all living plants - pretty amazing!
