Whistler

We went to Whistler with the Kingtons and the kids had a great time playing on the small beach at the lake at our complex. They found these small fish by the beach and were able to scoop them up with their hands. Apparently, the big one is named "Stacey" (Colby and Reese's mom!).

Last day of Sailing Class

Today was the last day of class. Holly got to steer today, with one of the instructors in her boat. At the end of class, they even had a little party.

Paddling and Sailing

Today, Paul and I went for a paddle when Holly was in class. He took the paddle board and I went in an OC1 (solo outrigger).

A seal even popped his head up . . .   a bit hard to see here, but if you click on the photo, it is on the far right.

Sailing away . . .

Holly is in a sailing class this week at the Jericho Sailing Centre - the kids are learning about the parts of a sail boat, as well as how to steer the boat. We're hoping that Holly will take us sailing in the little yellow boat that Uncle Basil gave her (he made it himself many years ago!).

Dressing up!

Holly came to school with me and went into the Junior Kindergarten room. While she was waiting she tried on one of the outfits!

Lucas' Birthday

A friend of Holly's from school had a birthday party at the Richmond Go Karts. A bunch of friends from school were there - and go figure...  mainly the dads were riding with their kids!

Holly and Paul went for a bike ride today at the Iona Jetty. It's 4km each way, so the total ride was 8km.

Cat's Cradle

Holly is practising for her Polynesian dance class - this is similar to Cat's Cradle. It is used by Maori children and adults to improve dexterity in their fingers, and is called "Whai".

Canada Day

Today was Canada Day, and "Jessie" from Toy Story was at the New Westminster River Market painting kids' faces! Holly wanted a Canada Flag for Canada Day and a pretty butterfly . . .
