Adult Halloween Party
Paul and I went to our school's annual Adult Halloween Party, tonight. Before we headed there, we went over to Trish & Steve's for a pre-party cocktail. Trish was dressed as as Marie Antoinette, and went all out with cakes and decorating her table with fancy pastries and china!

One of the classrooms at school!

Ash, dressed as Raggedy Ann, and Steve as Louise the XIV (or just a consort of Marie Antoinette's?) - switched wigs . . . . .

. . . . which started a strange wig-swapping/stealing frenzy, which apparently, Jason wanted to be the leader of! Jason, Raggedy Ann . . . . .

Jason, Louise XIV . . . . .

Faisal, mad scientist . . . . .

. . . . . and Jason, again - who knows who - we've lost track!!!

Steve, mad (drunk) scientist! Can you tell we all had a good time?!

Canpaign!
This is the second year Urban Academy has participated in a "Can-paign" to collect as much food as possible for a local soup kitchen. Today, we delivered the food to the Queens Avenue United Church that provides a hot lunch to the needy every Wednesday. The students at our school collected nearly double the amount of food as they did last year!

Part of the Canpaign involved a class competition. The class that brings in the most food gets to help deliver all the cans with Student Council. Holly's Grade 1 class won this year. Our teacher, Ms. Celis, won the competition last year and she really wanted to be the leading class again this year. The parents in our class took up the challenge, and made sure "we" won!

The Grade 1 Class, ready to walk over to the Church!

I brought the truck to school today so we could take all the cans - it's only about 3 blocks away, but there is no way we could walk this over! You can see Lily hiding by the bumper (she's in Grade 8 and part of Student Council).

Each of the Grade 1 students got to decorate a paper bag and bring over a few cans. Holly's bag says "My Community" and shows Paul, me, Holly, and Mowgli! Mowgli is saying "meow" and I'm not sure what Paul is saying . . .
