Go, Canucks, Go!

We had a family lunch at our Whistler townhouse today - it was our first one to "christen" the place my grandparents wanted us to have as a family getaway spot. Even though the Canucks didn't win the Stanley Cup, we decided to take a family photo in our Canucks' gear to show our support during the run - and also because my grandparents were such big fans.

Biking at Whistler

The 3 of us, with Bel, my mom, Ivy and David, took a walk along some of the trails tonight. It was a nice night for a walk - Holly took her bike. We will have to figure out the trail system and how we can get to Whistler Village on our bikes.

Alpha Lake

We went up to our Whistler townhouse and went out on the lake for the first time. Holly and Paul took a spin before coming in to the beach to pick me up.

Here is the view of the outdoor parking area - our townhouse is not visible, but is behind the trees to the right of the beach.

Our townhouse in the trees.

Bel and my mom went out with us in another canoe.

The lake is pretty small - I think it took us all of 15 minutes to canoe around the entire lake!

View from the lake.

Map of Alpha Lake - our townhouse is in Twin Lakes Village on the lower left of the map.

Trampoline!

We have talked about getting a trampoline for a while - Paul's friend told him there was a sale on one, so he went and got it. It was a surprise for Holly's birthday and we decided to put it up early, since her birthday is on Monday. . .

Hula Show Fundraiser

Today we participated in a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders helping the tsunami relief effort in Japan.

Here is my mom with some of her former co-workers at the "photo op" area of the room.

My mom and I danced in a few of the numbers together (along with the other ladies).

I mistakenly thought Holly had a birthday party to attend, so she was wearing her pretty party dress - her braid is done for her Maori number.

So serious . . .    hula is supposed to be fun! I guess I'm really concentrating on not forgetting my steps!

Now this is more like it! Holly is clearly enjoying the Maori poi ball dance!

This number was fun - Lula Rockahula (from our dance competition).

More cycling

After Holly's party today, we took her for a bike ride by the Fraser River. She seems to get more confident every day!

Birthday Girl!

We had Holly's 6th birthday party today. We went to Gardenworks and the kids got to paint flower pots, plant tomatoes and marigolds, and even add ladybugs!

Ladybugs! Our group leader brought out a bag full of ladybugs - it was pretty cool!
