8th Birthday

Today, Holly turned 8 and Reese turned 6 - we took the girls out for lunch (yes, we skipped school for the afternoon!), and they wanted to get mini pedicures.

Today we hosted some of Holly's friends for an old-fashioned kids' house party. We played games, had cake and loads of fun!

As part of the Lindbjerg package, we got a CD of about 60 images taken at the photo session. Here are a few of my favourites . . . I think they make her look like a teenager!

Theatrical Headshots

This was my favourite part of the production - seeing all the headshots in the lobby of the theatre! They had the photos in alphabetical order and it just happened by coincidence, that Holly and her 4 friends were all in the same block!

Musical Theatre

Holly played Kanga in the Lindbjerg Academy's Musical Theatre production of Winnie the Pooh.

Soccer

Holly has joined the Royal City Youth Soccer spring session. She's been wanting to try soccer for a while and it works into her schedule for the next 10 weeks. Today, we got some soccer cleats and socks and she went to try them out at the field. If you didn't know it, Daddy (Paul) used to be a soccer (football) goal keeper!

Tea Time

Holly and some of her friends went to the River Market for a special tea hosted by the Great Wall Tea Company. They even dressed up for the occasion - here she is with her friend, Charlie.

Science Project

Holly worked on a science project at home tonight. We blew up 3 balloons. They we put one in the freezer and one over boiling water to see what would happen . . .    have a look at what happened to the one that got hot!

Naughty or Nice?

This is service! Mommy flossing my teeth for me, while I lie in my bed!

Good thing we flossed, because Santa can see me all the time now! I asked him to bring me a picture of himself and the elves and the reindeer so I could remember him. This is what I got - a frame with a note on the back and pictures from the North Pole! Mommy says he can keep an eye on me now in my room. I have to be good all the time!

Pierced ears!

Holly got her ears pierced today! She has been asking for a while and we planned the day with her friends, Cassie and Mackenzie. We went to Granville Island to a kids' salon that numbs their ears with emla cream and you come back an hour later for "painless" ear piercing. Apparently, it doesn't even hurt when the cream wears off! Amazing!

She picked the most expensive earrings, of course - she has great fashion sense! They did turn out pretty cute.

Float Plane

We decided to go on a float plane over to Victoria to see Paul's parents for Christmas. Holly and I got to sit behind the cockpit! It was a bit loud and Holly was a bit nervous, so there was a bit of crying on the flight. I was sitting beside her on the way there, and Paul sat across from us (there are two passengers seats on one side of the plane and only one on the other).


Of course, on the way back, she was completely fine sitting beside Paul - not nervous as all! In fact, I could hear laughing above the drone of the engines . . .    go figure!

Winter Concert

We had our school Winter Concert tonight. Holly played on the xylophone - a surprise to Mommy and Daddy. . .

. . . and danced with the Fandango Club!
