World Sprints - Day 4

Watching the races with Auntie Marlene!

Team Canada wins another heat . . .

Proof of the result!

After the racing, Paul and Laci had a bit of a break, so we found a park (Bowness Park - the east end where there is a stream and lagoon), where we had lunch and Holly got to do some paddleboarding! The little ice cream shop here had the best coconut ice cream I have EVER tasted!!!

After our little sojourn, we went back to the race site for the medal ceremony. It was a strange trip back because we saw a funnel cloud on the way back, which looked a lot like a little tornado to me - scary! Then it started hailing right when we parked the truck, so we had to run back to the Team Canada tent in the hail. We all got soaking wet, but it was funny to watch some of the island teenagers who had never seen hail before, playing around like it was snow!

Later, we went to visit the Team Cal guys at the condo where they were staying. We decided to show up in our Team Canada cowboy hats - and the boys had their gold medals on under their jackets! They jokingly let the California boys touch their medals.
