Sunday

We all slept for a full 12 hours in our very comfy king-size bed! After our delicious breakfast of eggs, ham, and lavendar pecan pancakes, we took a drive around the island.

This is a really nice spot at the north end of the island, called Roche Harbor - we might have to come back and stay over her sometime!

View of Vancouver Island from Lime Kiln Point State Park.

The lighthouse at Lime Kiln Point - Dad is trying to make a phone call . . . . .

Cattle Point - Holly and Dad climbed a big rock here.

We walked along the beach at Cattle Point - it was pretty cool with the wind blowing, but still nice in the sunshine.

On the ferry back to Anacortes . . . . . Holly put Brown Bear into her carseat with her neck pillow and completely clipped him in for safety!

. . . and did some drawing as well.

After our 1 hour ferry ride, we had the longest wait at the "border" - because we took the ferry that came from Sidney, BC and stopped in Friday Harbor, when we got back to Anacortes, we had to clear customs!!! We used our Nexus cards on the way down from home yesterday, so we only waited about 10-15 minutes at Peace Arch Crossing. We had to wait 1 hour after coming off the ferry - and I'd say about 90% of the cars on the ferry came from Friday Harbor, not Sidney, so I think the system needs some updating to bring it into the 21st Century! And when we got back to the real border to head home, we only had a 15 minute wait - so it was kind of funny that our longest border wait wasn't even at a REAL border!!!

We stopped in La Conner on the way back, hoping to take Holly to one of my favourite stores, "Bunnies by the Bay" - so we could have a snack in the little tea shop and see all the bunnies and teddy bears, but unfortunately, it closes early on Sundays!

She did get to ride a horse and elephant outside the antique store . . . I was happy with the "antique" pricing - only a quarter - and the rides last a long time, too!
